Self-Service Appointment Platform
A real-time healthcare portal empowering clinicians and caregivers to manage appointments instantly without manual coordination.
From Manual Coordination to Self-Service
In many healthcare systems, scheduling changes still require manual intervention. Administrators often need to update appointments, call caregivers, and resolve scheduling conflicts. As Cortica expanded its clinics and caregiver network, this process created unnecessary operational overhead.
The goal of this project was to build a modern web portal that allows doctors, caregivers, and interns to manage appointments independently while ensuring strict reliability and security. The platform needed to feel fast, intuitive, and trustworthy while supporting thousands of users across the organization.
Designed for Healthcare Simplicity
Healthcare professionals should not struggle with complex scheduling tools. The interface was designed to feel fast, minimal and responsive while still handling complex scheduling rules in the background.
- • View upcoming appointments
- • Modify schedules instantly
- • Receive real-time updates
- • Automatic notifications on changes
Eliminating Manual Communication
Previously, every appointment change required schedulers to manually notify caregivers. The new system automates this communication using real-time updates and email alerts.
This dramatically reduced operational workload while improving transparency across the scheduling process.
Engineering Implementation
Secure Authentication
Implemented Azure authentication flows and JWT based authorization with secure session management and role-based access control.
Real-Time Notifications
Integrated WebSocket based notifications so users receive instant updates whenever an appointment changes.
Email Notification Services
Automated email alerts notify caregivers and clinicians about scheduling updates without manual intervention.
Key Responsibilities
I was responsible for implementing the full frontend architecture for the portal. I built the user interface, implemented authentication flows, integrated APIs, and collaborated closely with backend engineers during the formation of the product.
I also participated in UI/UX discussions with the product leadership team to ensure the platform remained intuitive while handling complex scheduling constraints.
Impact
4000+
